Scott Pilgrim has always been a ladies man, until he meets Ramona Flowers. She is different from other girls in a major way though, she has an army of ex-boyfriends that want to destroy her current boyfriend. Can he take down all the evil exs? This movie starring Michael Cera is now playing in theaters.

Going the Distance

The new comedy starring Drew Barrymore and Justin Long opens today at theaters around the area. Erin and Garrett are trying to maintain a long distance relationship with skype and cross-country visits, but will they be able to keep the romance going when a reuniting is not in sight.

Durham Mine Site Fossil Dig

CNC Naturalist, Kyle Waggener, will conduct a fossil Dig on November 20th from 10 am to 1 pm at Lula Lake Land Trust. This is the best site for fern fossils. Prepayment and Preregistration is required. Call 423-821-1160 ext 0. Admission is $8 CNC members and $4 for member children, $11 non-member adult and $6 non-member children.

Appalachian Celtic Festival and Highland Games

The 9th annual festival will take place on September 4th and 5th in Ringgold. There will be Appalachian and Celtic crafts, music and food. Admission is $5 for adults daily and $3 for children 12 and under. Doors open at 10 am on both days. For more information visit http://www.appalachiancelticconnection.org.

Hunter Museum of American Art

Attend the Hunter Museum for FREE on First Free Sundays, which is this Sunday, September 5th. Enjoy the galleries and crafts courtesy of Volkswagon.

NoogaPalooza

NoogaPalooza will take place at the Chattanooga Market this Sunday, September 5th at 7 pm. The event takes local musicians and assembles them into a band via a Rock Lottery drawing. The band then learns two original songs and one cover song for the main event on Sunday night. A group of judges decides which band is the best. All proceeds from the event go to Re: Sound Music Resource Center.

Strasburg Children

Strasburg Children Hamilton Place is having a child safety awareness event on Saturday, September 11th from 11:00 am-5:00pm. The event is free and all children are welcome. There will be tips on child safety topics including ID kits, helmet safety, car seat safety, and more! Plus free coupons for Chick-Fil-A kids meals while supplies last.  Please call 899-7276 for more information.

Benefit for Joey

Joey lost both his legs and injured his right arm on August 6th  after an IED exploded while he was serving with the Marine Corps in Afghanistan. He is currently in a hospital in Maryland, where his family is by his side. There will be a fundraiser at the Dalton Depot on September 5th to help out his family and one year old son.
